My second Upshot story is now live at www.WelcometoSanKeros.com! Click on the image below to meet Colin, who’s heard the siren song of San Keros and is about to leave London–and his best friends–behind.
So I’ve launched a new portion of http://www.WelcometoSanKeros.com today! It’s called Upshots, and it will feature shorter stories–more like snapshots–that will show glimpses into the past, present, and future of San Keros and its denizens. I’ll be posting a new Upshot for the next four more weeks or so, and then we’ll get to the next longform Miracle Season story.
So without further ado, let me introduce you to Max Colfort. He’s new to San Keros, and he’s about to discover one of its mysteries…
Greetings, fellow wanderers of our fair city of San Keros,
There was an unexpected death in my family within the last few weeks, and the update schedule has gotten a tad delayed. But rest assured–the story of Hrothgar Jones and Beth Kendall is far, far from over. Regular weekly updates will recommence this week, with the series now reaching conclusion the first week of January. My apologizes for extending the story into the New Year, but grief has a funny way of creeping into the best of your intentions and rendering them moot.
Following the conclusion of Open Your Eyes, WelcometoSanKeros.com will take a brief break of just two simple weeks, and then we will start unveiling content of the next story cycle! Tales from the Miracle Season is just beginning, and the players are still gathering on the side of the stage. They’re as anxious to meet you as you are to meet them. And the City has its own ambitions…
I’m proud to announce that my first web-based large scale fiction project has gone live! WelcomeToSanKeros.com is the online hub for Tales from the Miracle Season, an interlocking web of short stories, ficlets, novellas, and more. The first story, Open Your Eyes, is a serial that will be updated weekly alongside biographical and geographical entries of the city of San Keros and its environs. As you read, the city will open up before you, the website a living document that expands and fills in gaps between tales. Open Your Eyes will be a story of 12 parts, with the next story in the cycle announced and commencing upon its completion. I hope you’ll give this story a chance. It’s my most personal story to date, and it sets the stage for everything that will follow.
You’ll continue to find all other written work–past and future–not affiliated with Tales from the Miracle Season here at latenightstirfry.com . The Season of the Story is now.
Beneath the bent boughs of the trees in Finn’s Wood, something is stirring.
Something old, Something new.
And Something Blue.
